Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is a process of injecting the sperm directly into the ovule. Usually, this procedure is performed when semen quality is poor, the quantity is small, or the sperm are slow.
How is the ICSI procedure performed?
The formation of follicles in patients body is stimulated, and then the ova are removed. On the same day, the man's sperm is taken in a natural way or by applying the testicular sperm aspiration procedure. The sperm cells are injected into the ovule, and the next day, it is examined whether the conception has occurred. If so, the embryos are transferred into the uterus.

PICSI is the intracytoplasmic injection of physiologically selected sperm. It is the procedure when only mature and able to perform their physiological function sperm cells is selected, and after that, the ICSI procedure is carried out.
